Backtest 2017–2026 on BTC and ETH (6H candles, 0.05% cost per side): positive Sharpe in every period tested for four EMA pairs, shallower drawdowns than buy-and-hold (for example BTC 2018: +19% vs −73%), and it lagged badly in strong rallies (BTC 2020: +76% vs +302%).
